I have always found the Office of Readings in the Divine Office a great source of spiritual clarity. For example, Pope St.Leo the Great speaks of our reconciliation with God in the birth of Jesus. The new man Christ united our sinful nature with his, inside the human condition. By this blending, the mystery of a new birth allows us to be "born again" and frees us from the slavery of sin. The people of God have been " born not of blood, nor desire of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God".
